Why Your Classroom Needs This Training

Teaching has never been more challenging. Between managing disruptive behaviors, helping distracted students focus, and maintaining your own well-being, it’s no wonder educators are feeling overwhelmed.

You’ve likely tried countless classroom management strategies with mixed results. The problem isn’t your dedication—it’s that traditional approaches don’t address the root cause: students’ underdeveloped self-regulation skills.

This comprehensive SEL training changes everything. You’ll build a strong foundation in the FocusedKids approach, master evidence-based self-regulation and mindfulness techniques, learn to integrate brain-based language into your teaching, and gain practical tools that transform classroom dynamics. The result? A calmer, more focused classroom where both you and your students thrive.

What Participants Are Saying

“I would 100% recommend this course to other educators! The Calm and Connected Educator Training is a great introductory course for teachers searching for some “magic” in their classroom management! The FocusedKids practices truly feel magical when your class becomes calm and silent after moments of dysregulation. The course is very user friendly, self paced, and contains many great additional resources. Not only would I recommend this to new educators or those unfamiliar with FocusedKids, but it is a great refresher too!”

Carly Madsen - Kindergarten Teacher

“The Focused Kids curriculum has been the most useful and comprehensive emotional-health program that I have encountered. The puppets, tools and language have been universally accepted by my preschool students (and their families) and have become a requested and beloved part of each of our days in school. The course breaks down the Focused Kids curriculum in an approachable and easy to grasp, step-by-step manner that makes incorporating Focused Kids into your classroom a seamless transition. THIS is what your classroom is missing!”

Ali Cottle - Thompson Schoolhouse

The introduction of asynchronous professional development (PD) through FocusedKids is a significant advancement, as it provides accessible training for educators to support the emotional well-being of their students. The course offers a wealth of knowledge and practical resources, allowing teachers to immediately implement the FocusedKids curriculum in their classrooms.

This program is particularly valuable for educators seeking effective tools to help students develop self-regulation skills. By fostering student independence and emotional awareness, the curriculum supports a shift away from constant classroom management—giving teachers more time to focus on instruction and meaningful learning.”

Imagine a classroom full of calm, focused, and engaged students—where you can actually teach instead of constantly managing behaviors. Add to that the personal self-regulation skills you’ll develop for both your professional and personal life. While 81% of teachers report significant stress reduction and find the value far exceeds the cost, the transformation you’ll experience will speak for itself.

Absolutely. This training was specifically designed to address educator burnout and compassion fatigue. You’ll learn practical tools to manage daily stress, regulate your own emotions, and create a more peaceful classroom environment—all of which directly combat the overwhelming feelings that lead to burnout.

Yes! Through this course you’ll have the opportunity to earn up to 2 Continuing Education credits (32 Hrs) that you can submit to your school or district. We recommend checking with your district about pre-approval requirements before enrolling to ensure smooth processing.

Most educators complete each module in approximately 2 hours, however you may want to dedicate 3-4 hours to the Additional Resources as it includes full PD recordings and sessions, along with worksheets and materials that we encourage you to download and/or print. In order to earn the full 2 credits, you must implement learnings from each module and then submit your evidence of implementation and learning (photos, written responses, etc.). We estimate that this will take 3-4 hours/module for implementation and about 1 hour to document and submit your evidence.

Ultimately, since this course is entirely self-paced, you can spread this across several weeks or complete it more intensively—whatever works best for your schedule and learning style.

Many educators successfully receive reimbursement, though policies vary by district. We’re happy to provide any documentation you need, including detailed course descriptions, learning objectives, and certificates to support your reimbursement request.

Not at all! This is a completely self-paced online course. You can complete modules whenever it works for your schedule, whether that’s early morning, after school, or on weekends.
