A brain break is a short, calming practice designed to help both students and teachers regain focus and calmness. The aim is to soothe the amygdala (the brain’s “Guard Dog”), signaling that “I am safe and don’t need you right now,” while engaging the prefrontal cortex (the “Wise Owl”) to prepare for learning. These videos will guide you through some of our favorite brain breaks for the classroom.
