In the final Professional Development session of the 2024-2025 school year, Amanda Petersen facilitated a thoughtful group reflection on the work teachers have accomplished both personally and professionally through FocusedKids. Participants shared their most effective self-care strategies, including early morning quiet time, intentional breathing exercises, and positive self-talk practices. Teachers celebrated classroom implementation successes, particularly their use of consistent FocusedKids language and openly naming emotions with students. Many recounted remarkable transformations, describing formerly dysregulated children who now independently recognize their emotional state and apply appropriate calming techniques. The session emphasized how deliberate reflection solidifies new neural pathways, reinforcing sustainable growth and creating lasting positive changes in both teachers and students. Through shared stories and collective celebration, participants acknowledged their journey and the meaningful impact of integrating FocusedKids practices into their educational approach.
